Sarande – Butrint

I can’t remember what order we did things in, so perhaps this is out of order; but in any case, I do remember that last cruise we spent a morning in Corfu and then sailed across the road to the Albanian port of Sarande (new country!) and went off to look at Butrint, formerly Buthrotum. It was FANTASTIC. I wasn’t expecting it to be so great at all. But it was a very good site with very good guides and everyone involved had a great afternoon, topped off with a free drink at a very nice cafe nearby. They say the beer is good. I had something that tasted like liquid pear drops and slightly regretted it. There were tame rabbits. My photos do not do Butrint justice.
